TRAVIS HEFFEREN MUSIC & SOUND DESIGN

The film by Manuela Gray artfully documents the fascinating tattoo culture of South African prison ‘Number’ gangs. The Editor Paul Gardner approached me to add the sonic atmosphere and tension the film demands. I dug deep into sub sonic sculpture and generative synthesis.

Gyspy Jazz inspired music for this Bear fruit snack commercial

Luxurious vocals and sound design compliment the luxurious VFX of this piece. The music has its own separate identity from the imagery, leaving plenty of space for breath

The good people at Belong asked for a continuous sound track which changed genres where appropriate yet retained a continuity of sound. All the music apart from Dr Who and Eastenders were done with the same session set-up inc reverbs and ambiences etc

The good people at the Midnight Club asked for some edgy, minimal Music and Sounddesign to augment their lovely pictures

Nice piece for Weareseventeen. 

Attitude with a London Grime feel was the brief for this Promo. Heavy beats and horns and some fantastic Rapping from Saint really gives this film some grit.

This Promo is part of the TIGI Colour - Custom Collection range. Each film has its own feel and palette. To go with the look, the approach was to mix Electronic and Acoustic instruments as a contrast, much like the natural beauty of the models contrasts with the hard, edgy background and VFX.

Classical fairy tail with a bit of humour was the goal when composing this piece. 

A 2/4 time signature was used to give a 'plodding bear' feel.

They didn't want anything cheesy or typical of lifestyle channels. 

This film was shot by 16oz to demonstrate the quality of Epsons 3D projectors. Using a mix real drums and generative synthesis, this piece has an organic, electro/acoustic sound.

Weareseventeen wanted a simple electronic tune for this Kodak ad that sounded a bit like a computer game. I used a lot of 'chipsound' patches and monophonic synths.
